Adding fabric softener to your laundry load is not a must but a choice for you to make. The fabric softener will keep your clothing soft, wrinkle-free, and fragrant. However, using softener may be beneficial if you have sensitive skin, as a softer fabric will be less harsh on the skin. Do take note to find a softener that is hypoallergenic and dermatologically tested though.

Also, keep in mind not to use fabric softeners on fabrics made of microfibre, flame resistant material, and athleisure clothing. The softener will ruin the functionality of these materials.
